Rawson Primary School is located 37 kms, North of Moe and was established in January 1994. Following the merger of the Erica and A.G. Robertson Primary Schools, at the A.G Robertson site in Rawson. We have an enrolment of approximately 9 students from surrounding districts including Erica, Moondarra and Jacobs's Creek. Staff and parents work together to develop and warm and friendly atmosphere in which every child is encouraged to achieve to the best of their ability and to gain a love of learning and caring for other. Rawson Primary School is committed developing broad educational programs of high quality. The school emphasises the development of Literacy and Numeracy skills, along with developing learning experiences in the Arts, Information Technology, Personal Development, Social Education, Science and Technology. The aim of the curriculum is program is to be challenging, motivating, have a purpose and ensure that all students feel a sense of success and achievement. Students at Rawson Primary School also have the opportunity to participate in a broad range of extra activities including camps, excursions and inter school sports. Facilities at the school comprise of two classrooms, quiet learning space, a library/information technology centre, a creative art and dramatic art facility, an administration/staff room area and an extensive undercover area. These facilities are linked with covered walkways and provide and excellent environment for teaching and learning. The school grounds provide a picturesque setting being maintained by, and developed by school council with parent assistance, and includes and oval, an adventure playground with extensive shade sails and a netball court. Participation by the parents in the day-to-day operation of the school is encouraged and can be achieved in many ways for example by joining the school council, assisting in classroom programs (Maths, Reading & Literacy) Library assistance, excursions (as parent helpers) and sport activities. SCHOOL COUNCIL School Council meets at times convenient to the members 8 times per year. Annual School Council elections are held in March of each year. All families are eligible and encouraged to stand for School Council. Rawson Primary School Council consists of 5 parent representatives and 2 Department of Education and Training representatives, including the Principal. School Council makes decisions affecting your child and you. The committee contributes to establishing policies and programs and provides vision and leadership for Rawson PS. Your participation and support is invited and indeed, necessary, if our School Council is to successfully fulfil its role and responsibilities.
