FOUNDATION (Prep) ENROLMENT 2027
To start primary school your child must turn 5 years of age or older, by 30 April of the year that they will start school.
All Victorian government primary schools follow the statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline. The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child at a Victorian government primary school. For more information about the enrolment timeline visit Enrolling in Foundation (Prep).
You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) 2026 at Rawson Primary School from Monday 20th April.
Our school uses the Department of Education’s secure digital enrolment system called VicStudents This means you can submit your Foundation (Prep) application/enrolment online and receive updates through the system.

- Download the Foundation (Prep) enrolment information pack from Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) (available Monday 20 April 2026). This pack includes guidance on the application process.
- Submit an enrolment application via VicStudents
- Accept the enrolment offer via VicStudents
- Take part in Transition Sessions during Term 4, 2026
- Prepare your child will start Foundation (Prep) from Wednesday 27th January 2027.

- evidence of identity and date of birth (for example, a birth certificate or passport)
- your contact details
- emergency contact details
- health information about your child, this must include Asthma, Anaphylaxis or Allergy Action Plans (whichever is relevant)
- other legal orders relating to your child and their welfare.
- Immunisation History Statement
